HEABC takes a provincial leadership role in human resources and labour relations, including disability management, issues management for more than 218 publicly funded health care employers. HEABC is responsible for negotiating six major provincial agreements covering more than 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, health science professionals, ambulance paramedics and dispatchers, physician residents, and support workers in both facilities and community settings.

Reporting to the Corporate Information Manager, the Information and Privacy Analyst works with people and systems to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of HEABC’s information management (IM) and privacy strategy and supporting processes. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of HEABC’s IM strategy, including administration of information systems, managing record lifecycles, and supporting the operation of HEABC’s privacy program.

The Information and Privacy Analyst:

  • Supports the operation of HEABC’s Information Management and Privacy programs, and all related strategies, policies, systems, and processes.
  • Assists in the development of IM policies, workflows, and procedures, including those required for records management and HEABC’s privacy responsibilities.
  • Leads staff consultations regarding information needs; works with the IMIT team and/or system vendors to translate into system information design & structure.
  • Serves as the central professional responsible for the administration, tracking, and management/coordination of privacy-related requests that come to HEABC.

Knowledge, Experience and Education:

  • A degree in Information Studies and/or Records Management, or Business Administration/Commerce (preferably in Information Management Systems) and a minimum of 3 years in an Analyst role, at a business or technical level, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in: privacy and protection of personal information, information architecture/description, digital transformation, health care industry, and/or government administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of information management principles & best practices
  • Ability to work effectively with both systems and people, and effectively understand and translate information needs into systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across departments and with external organizations.
